The
Indo-US Cultural Association (IUCA) of Winston-Salem is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to increase awareness of the cultural heritage of India in and around the Triad region.
Indian heritage is tremendously rich in its culture and diversity. With a thriving Indian-American community right here in the Triad, the Association seeks to reach out to the Piedmont Triad community and share this vibrant culture. The association also promotes and supports family oriented cultural activities to assist in youth development.
In a global context, the Indian Diaspora covers practically every part of the world. It numbers more than a million each in eleven countries making the Diaspora very special. Residing in distant lands, its members have succeeded spectacularly in their chosen professions by dint of their single-minded dedication and hard work. For instance right here in the Triad, and over the last four years, the Indian-American community has grown exponentially from a modest 500 families to over 1200 families and comprise of a combination of doctors, engineers, researchers, university professors and administrators, bankers and information technology professionals.
